MSBC CHURCH UPDATE for Aug 19th, 2026

ORDINATION & POTLUCK PICNIC SUNDAY: This Sunday!
Pastor Robert will be ordained on Aug 23rd. After the morning service ends, there will be a church potluck picnic to celebrate this important occasion. MSBC will be providing the hot dogs, hamburgers and cake so please bring a non-dessert side dish to share. The ordination service will then begin at 1pm. It will start with worship followed by several speakers who will contribute to the ordination process. Come out and support this momentous occasion!

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY & POTLUCK:
Wednesday, Aug 26th & Sept 9th, 6pm.

MEMBERSHIP CLASS:
Join us on Sept 13th after the service to find out more about the church or to become a member. Sign up at the Welcome Center.

WOMEN’S THURSDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY:
“Truthfilled” by Ruth Chou Simons. Starting Sept 17th, 9am. Join this 7-session study of the book of Colossians as she leads us through a practice of preaching gospel truth to ourselves by studying Paul’s example. In every changing season of life, we can rest in God’s character, rehearse our identity in Christ, respond in faith, and remember God’s provision for us. In today’s culture, there’s no shortage of self-help, easy fixes, and worldly advice, but only the truth of God’s Word was meant to fill you up and satisfy you fully. No need to sign up. Books can be purchased on Amazon.  

COFFEE TIME:
We still need 2 people who would be able to serve if someone is on a vacation or for a last minute sickness/emergency. If you want to get to know your church family better and would like to serve coffee on Sunday mornings, please see Cara or email secretary@houltonmsbc.org.

CHOICES DIRECTOR:
Adopt-A-Block of Aroostook (AABA) is seeking a caring, organized, and Christ-centered individual to serve as the Director of our Choices After-School Program. The Director provides overall leadership, organization, and weekly oversight of the program while working alongside an amazing team of volunteers to create a safe, fun, and encouraging environment for children. Part-Time (School Year), Tuesdays, plus planning and preparation time, up to 10 hours a week. If you have a heart for children, enjoy leading volunteers, and desire to make a lasting impact in the lives of families in our community, we'd love to hear from you! VAN RIDES:
If you need a ride to church on a Sunday morning, please call the office no later than Thursday morning so we can get the route info set up before the weekend. Please note the church is closed on Fridays.
