Kathy, my wife, and I moved to the Old Town, Maine during the early summer of 2003 from our home in Lancaster County, PA.  After vacationing in Maine for many years and completing the final leg of our Appalachian Trail adventure at Katahdin, a desire was birthed in us to move to the state.  God blessed us by providing a great job for Kathy which enabled us to make the move a year earlier than we had originally planned.  Kathy is still employed there.  God has provided us with a beautiful home and property in Greenfield Twp., which is approximately sixteen miles northeast of Old Town.  We do not have children.

We both received Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior in December of 1987.  Soon after, we became members of Hosanna Christian Fellowship, which provided a strong foundation for our walk with the Lord.  I became the worship leader there in 1989 and then a full time staff member in 1990.  During my time at Hosanna, I received intense leadership training and many church administrative insights.  My musical skills had been developed through a less than glorious professional music career that ended with my turning to Christ and serving Him with all the the talents and gifts God had given me.  I was an elder at Hosanna for one year before Kathy and I heard the Lord telling us to move on.  So after ten years, we left Hosanna and home, and headed for the Appalachian Trail.  After five months in ’00 and three months in ‘01, the 2,165 mile hike was completed and we returned to Lancaster County where Kathy resumed her administrative assistant career and I developed a worship mentoring ministry that served various churches throughout Lancaster county.

Upon arriving in Maine, Kath and I prayed that God would open the door for me to return to full time ministry.  That prayer was answered when I was set in as Director of Adult Discipleship at the January 29, 2005 congregational meeting here at MSBC.  Usually, I drive to Houlton each Sunday morning and stay through Wednesday afternoon when I return home.  Kathy is very supportive and comfortable with this arrangement.  As you can see, I am home three days and four nights each week.

I firmly believe our arrival here was only one of the God orchestrated events which lead to my serving here at Military Street, although that’s too detailed and grand an adventure to describe here in a few lines.  My purpose here is to help the members and attenders of Military Street Baptist Church develop a stronger and deeper relationship with the Lord so they in turn can be about God’s business of also building stronger and deeper relationships with their families, friends, neighbors, and community.  I want to see MSBC be God’s instrument in truly affecting this region for His glory.

I am blessed to be a part of what God is doing in this region through His ministry at Military Street Baptist Church.  If you have any questions or comments concerning Discipleship, or DGroups (Small Groups), or the ministry of MSBC in general, I would love to discuss them with you.  Just contact me and we’ll make it happen!  I look forward to meeting you.
